Common problems we see

Cracked or black screen

A visible crack, lines through the picture, or a backlight that stays dark while the machine is clearly running. Screens are one of the most common laptop repairs and one of the most replaceable.

Will not charge or hold charge

A wobbly charge port, a cable that only works at an angle, or a battery that drops from full to dead in minutes. These are two different faults with two different fixes.

Liquid damage

Coffee, water, anything else. Time matters more than anything else here — stop using it, do not try to dry it out with heat, and bring it in.

Keyboard or trackpad faults

Keys that repeat, keys that do nothing, a trackpad that jumps. Sometimes a cable, sometimes the whole top case.

Overheating and loud fans

Years of dust and dried-out thermal paste make a laptop throttle itself until it feels broken. Often one of the cheapest things on this page to fix.

Slow, or will not boot

A failing drive and a software problem look identical from the outside. The diagnostic is what tells them apart, and it matters — one needs parts, one does not.

What we do

Screen replacement

LCD and LED panels for most makes. We confirm the exact panel your model takes before ordering, because a near-match is not a match.

Charge port and jack repair

Including soldered ports on the board rather than replacing the whole machine, which is what you are usually quoted elsewhere.

Battery replacement

A genuine capacity test first — some "battery" complaints are actually power settings or a failing charger.

Keyboard and trackpad

Cable, keyboard assembly or full top case depending on what actually failed.

Liquid damage assessment

We open it, look at the board and tell you honestly whether it is worth repairing. Sometimes it is not, and we will say so.

Drives, RAM and cleaning

SSD and memory upgrades, thermal service, and data moved across to the new drive so you keep your files.

What happens when you walk in

  1. Bring the machine to the counter — no appointment, no booking form. If it is a desktop, the tower alone is usually enough; leave the monitor, keyboard and mouse at home unless the fault involves them.
  2. We take down what the machine is doing and what you were doing when it started. Be blunt about it — "it got wet", "my nephew installed something" saves us hours.
  3. We run diagnostics. The fee is $79.99, and it goes toward the repair if you go ahead with it.
  4. We call you with what is wrong, what it costs, and how long it will take. Nothing beyond the diagnostic is done without your say-so.
  5. Most repairs are finished in 1-5 business days. Waiting on an ordered part is the usual reason something takes longer, and we tell you if that is the case.

Liquid damage is the one case where waiting genuinely makes it worse. Do not try to charge it or dry it with heat — bring it in as soon as you can.

Warranty

Hardware repairs done here — screens, charge jacks, motherboards and the like — carry a 90-day warranty covering both the replacement part and the labour. New parts bought from us carry a one-year parts warranty. Full terms, including what is not covered, are on our warranty page.

Questions we get asked

How much does laptop repair cost in Baton Rouge?

The diagnostic is $79.99 and applies toward the repair if you go ahead. We cannot quote the repair itself until we know what failed - a screen and a motherboard are very different jobs, and guessing a price before looking helps nobody.

How long will my laptop take?

Most repairs are done in 1-5 business days. The usual reason for longer is waiting on a part to arrive, and we will tell you up front if your model needs one ordered.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during business hours, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.

Will I lose my files?

Not for most repairs - a screen or charge port never touches your data. If the drive itself is the problem we talk to you about recovery options before doing anything that could affect what is on it.

Is it worth repairing, or should I just buy a new one?

We will tell you straight after the diagnostic. If the repair costs more than the machine is worth, we say so - we sell computers too, so you can weigh both in one visit.

Do you repair phones or tablets?

No. We work on laptops, desktops and Macs. Phones and tablets are not something we take in.
