Computer Upgrades in Baton Rouge
A lot of machines people are ready to throw out only need a drive and some memory. We will tell you honestly whether yours is one of them — and when it is genuinely time to replace it instead.

Slow to start, slow to open anything
The classic mechanical-hard-drive machine. An SSD is the single biggest change you can make to how a computer feels.
Everything grinds with a few tabs open
Usually memory. Cheap to add on most machines, and immediately noticeable.
Out of disk space
Larger drive, with everything moved across so it works exactly as it did.
Games or editing struggling
Graphics card, and whether your power supply and case can actually take the one you want.
Windows 11 says this PC is not supported
Sometimes a setting, sometimes genuinely the hardware. We can tell you which, and it is worth knowing which before buying anything.
Not sure it is worth spending on
The most common question we get. We would rather tell you to save your money than sell you parts for a machine that is finished.
What we do
SSD upgrades
Including cloning Windows and your files across so nothing is lost and nothing needs reinstalling.
Memory upgrades
The right type and the maximum your board actually supports, checked before ordering.
Larger or additional storage
More space without giving up the speed of the drive you boot from.
Graphics card upgrades
Matched to your power supply and case, not just to your wish list.
Windows 11 readiness
Whether your machine can take it, and what it needs if it can.
Straight advice about replacing
If the sensible answer is a new machine, we will say so - we sell and build those too, so you can compare both in one visit.
What happens when you walk in
- Bring the machine to the counter — no appointment, no booking form. If it is a desktop, the tower alone is usually enough; leave the monitor, keyboard and mouse at home unless the fault involves them.
- We take down what the machine is doing and what you were doing when it started. Be blunt about it — "it got wet", "my nephew installed something" saves us hours.
- We run diagnostics. The fee is $79.99, and it goes toward the repair if you go ahead with it.
- We call you with what is wrong, what it costs, and how long it will take. Nothing beyond the diagnostic is done without your say-so.
- Most repairs are finished in 1-5 business days. Waiting on an ordered part is the usual reason something takes longer, and we tell you if that is the case.

Warranty
New parts purchased from us carry a one-year parts warranty. Note that the parts warranty does not extend to cover upgrades themselves. Custom desktops we build carry a lifetime labour warranty on the build. Full terms, including what is not covered, are on our warranty page.
Questions we get asked
Which upgrade makes the biggest difference?
On any machine still running a mechanical hard drive, an SSD - it is not close. Memory is second. Both together turn most tired machines into perfectly usable ones.
Will I lose my files or have to reinstall everything?
No. We clone your existing setup across, so it starts up looking exactly as it did before, just faster.
Can my laptop be upgraded?
Many can, but not all - some manufacturers solder memory and storage in place. Bring it in or call with the model and we will tell you before you buy anything.
Is upgrading worth it, or should I buy new?
Depends on the machine, and we will give you a straight answer. There is a point where parts cost more than the computer is worth, and we would rather tell you that than take the sale.
How long does an upgrade take?
Most are done well inside 1-5 business days. Cloning a large drive is usually the longest part.
What warranty do upgrade parts carry?
New parts bought from us carry a one-year parts warranty. The full terms, including what is excluded, are on our warranty page.
